Gum Paints can be used to provide relief from inflamed and bleeding gums, cold sores, and mouth ulcers. Tannic acid is applied topically for the treatment of cold sores, diaper rash, fever blisters, and poison ivy. Iodine acts as an anesthetic and anti-infective. Menthol acts as a local analgesic and gives a cooling sensation whereas camphor also acts as a local analgesic. Thymol acts as an analgesic and antiseptic.

Mechanism:

Iodine acts as an antiseptic and anti-infective. Iodine has a powerful bactericidal action, and quickly gets to work killing bacteria and viruses. Tannic acid acts as an astringent for the mucous membrane of the mouth. It forms a film of protein 'tannate' that acts as mechanical protective. Menthol acts as a local analgesic and gives the sensation of coolness which gives some relief from the pain. Camphor acts as a mild analgesic. Thymol is a phenolic compound with antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

Composition:

Iodine IP 1 gm Potassium Iodide IP 2 gm Tannic Acid IP 0.5 gm Thymol IP 0.25 gm Menthol IP 0.25 gm Camphor IP 0.20 gm Glycerin IP 94.3 gm Alum IP 1.5 gm Purified water to make 100 ml

• Pack of 30 bottles 15gm each

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Using the provided applicator or a clean cotton swab, apply a small amount of the gum paint directly to the affected areas of the gums or mouth lining.
• Ensure thorough coverage of the affected areas.
• Do not rinse with water or consume any food or drink for at least 10 minutes after application to allow the medication to take effect.
• Use as directed by a healthcare professional or as indicated on the packaging.
• Store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Discontinue use if any adverse reactions occur and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist.
